St Edward's provides a secure and positive environment where pupils feel cared for, listened to and encouraged to attain their potential. We operate a full 24 hour curriculum, with clear social timings and routines for boys to follow.
Boys' participation in all aspects of life at school is based on assessments of their ability, their behaviour and their potential to benefit from what we have to offer. Inappropriate behaviour is challenged and we take every opportunity to promote positive responses to the programmes we have to offer. Pupils explore the implications for staying safe and assuming responsibilities beyond the confines of school life through the school's PSHE curriculum.
We have an active, experienced and involved independent person who makes regular visits to the school to meet and talk to pupils. We give pupils clear guidance on responding to strangers or unaccounted for visitors to the school site.
We maintain strong and frequent contact with parents and carers at home, taking opportunities to engage them in the work we do and share information, to help ensure pupil placements are successful. We are available to parents and carers for information and advice and there are opportunities throughout the year when families can be directly involved in the work of the school.
