St Edward’s football team - back to winning ways

 

St Edward’s Senior football team have resumed where they left off last year by winning the opening two games of the new season.

 

In a high scoring game away to local rivals Lakeside School, hat- tricks from Scott and Montel, together with a brace of goals from Josh, helped our boys secure an entertaining 8-5 victory.

 

In a much tighter game away to Bicknell School in Bournemouth our defenders took the plaudits as a strong Bicknell side were narrowly defeated 1-0. Scott scored the only goal of the game, but a man of the match performance from centre back Theo proved the difference.

 

The boys are now looking forward to beginning the defence of their Hampshire and Isle of Wight 5-a-side title at Hampshire FA headquarters in Basingstoke in the coming weeks. The School is already encouraged that the successes of last season have spurred the boys on to do as well this season.
